When Millie Had Puppies

Documenting Millie the Cocker Spaniel bring 5 pups into the world.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend a few sessions over the course of 9 weeks documenting Millie the Cocker Spaniel bring 5 healthy, loveable pups into the world.

I first photographed Millie as she was just days away from giving birth.

Then I saw her with the beautiful pups for 4 more sessions, spending about an hour each time with them.

They are all gorgeous, it was very difficult for me to walk away from them all without sneaking one in my camera bag! To see the changes in both their appearances and characteristics was fascinating; their different personalities started to appear towards the end of my sessions with them.

It was such a precious keep-sake for the breeder and owner of one of the new pups, and all of the new owners who all got some photos to keep too.

As a candid photographer, I act as a fly on the wall in all of my shoots, whilst looking for great light, compositions and unexpected, fleeting moments that make photos so memorable.
